Somewhere between grass-stained jeans, and
Laying in the sun just to appreciate the breeze, and
Fishing trips, catch-and-release, and
Hide-and-go seek, you can’t catch me, and
Summer-sweet, street light reminders, and
Simple rules, Keepers are Finders, and
Happy souls, carefree and full, and
The first friend who didn’t come home, and
Getting a taste of life after this, and
Trying to hold it all as it slipped, and
Discovering first loves often don’t last, and
Losing your self as you create your past, and
Finding yourself in the shade of the setting sun, and
Hiding in the shadow thrown by the things you should’ve done, and
You take what you need and pass on the rest, and
You find time to lay in the breeze, catch your breath, and
You recognize life isn’t to keep, but catch-and release.
